The Artist


The Karen Mardis Collection of Jewels began as a means of self expression for founder and designer Karen Weinlader Mardis. What was initially a creative and therapeutic retreat from the chaos of motherhood, household and work, has evolved into a collection of fine, original jewelry hand crafted from semi-precious gem stones, fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver.


Karen Mardis Jewels are created solely by Karen Mardis. Her painstaking attention to detail and perfectionist tendencies have resulted in timeless yet trendsetting jewels unique to the personality of the wearer. Many of the jewels are one-of-a-kind or limited edition designs, further establishing the uniqueness of her collection. Her inspirations come from all around her and evolve with the changing of the seasons and the colors that drive those forces.

Inspired by the many girlfriends in her life who have influenced her talent, Karen began naming her jewels in honor of one woman or another. Often, she has mused that her jewels are for the many different girls that reside in each of our hearts, making us the woman we are. Therefore, it is only fitting that one woman would potentially have many, many jewels in her jewelry box.


Karen Mardis resides in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania with her husband Scott and their two young children, Keller and Hadley, not to mention their Black Labrador, Kasey. Karen majored in design at the University of Delaware and has been creating and designing in one shape or another for most of her life.
